Mother's Day 2012

I got to sleep in, have breakfast in bed, do a little shopping, what could be better? The girls also gave me a tanning package, which I'm still loving :)

It was a little too quiet...

After we got home from Chad and Tasha's house, we were relaxing watching tv. We realized how quiet it was suddenly and called for Chloe. She came walking into the living room holding a tube of mascara. She had it everywhere. Initially, I was mad. Then Rob told me I had to take a picture of her. It seems a lot funnier now.

Maxton's blessing

The week after we blessed Hailey, Chad and Tasha blessed Maxton. So we all went up to Rexburg for that. We took Chloe to feed the ducks, which she loved, and she got to see "the ladies" (Chad's chickens). We took a bunch of pictures of Hailey and Maxton. They're only one month apart, but at this stage, I can't believe how much of a difference that makes. While we were taking pictures of them, they ended up linking arms, then Maxton rolled into Hailey and grabbed onto her arm. He held onto her so tight, it was adorable. Everytime we lay them next to each other they are fascinated. I'm glad they are so close in age and they will be able to grow up together.

Easter 2012

My family and Rob's parents all came to our house for Easter this year. On the Saturday before, we took the kids to the big Easter egg hunt put on by the radio station. It was crazy, there were so many people. After than, Rob's dad took us to see The Lorax. It was fantastic. We read that book before bedtime often. The next day at church we blessed Hailey. Rob talked to the bishop a few weeks before and he was able to bless her himself. After church we went home and had our own Easter egg hunt. The kids had a blast and got tons of candy. Then we had a big Easter dinner. Tasha's family was in town to meet Maxton, so they joined us and it was a lot of fun.

Hailey's hospital stay

At only 2 weeks old, our sweet little baby girl got a cold. Shortly after, it turned into RSV. I watched for the signs like her doctor told me to, and I called his office. They couldn't get her in until the afternoon, and because she was still so young, they told me to go ahead and take her to the ER. So I called Rob, he came home from work, we took Chloe to a friend's house and headed to the hospital. They checked her out, tested her, and determined that she did have RSV and they were going to have to admit her to the pediatric ward. I had no idea it was so serious. Once we got to her room, the nurses started flooding the room, gathering around her, getting her IV in, getting oxygen on her, it was crazy. I just sat in the corner and cried while she laid on the bed screaming. They told me later that they were very concerned when she came in. Her skin looked gray and there was barely any oxygen exchange in her lungs. She stayed in the hospital for 6 long days. Once she could finally keep her oxygen levels up while she was sleeping, they let us take her home.

Tyson's 5th Birthday

We had Tyson's 5th birthday party at Leo's Place this year. I cheated and ordered a cupcake cake. I usually make them cupcakes myself, but Hailey was only 5 days old, so I decided that was a good excuse to buy them this year. It was cooler than I could have made anyway, and he loved it.

Hailey Paige Astle

I was scheduled to be induced at 5am on February 20th, apparently Hailey had different plans. At 2am on the 20th, my water broke. Right before we went to bed, Rob asked if I wanted to put down a towel just in case. I told him no, I honestly didn't think anything was going to happen, I wasn't due until the 27th. I guess I should have listened...but don't tell him I said that. He woke up my mom and the 3 of us got to the hospital about 3am. On the way there my contractions starting getting pretty painful. I was laying in the hospital bed and my whole body was shaking. It was like I was shivering, but I wasn't even cold. One of the nurses brought me a warm blanket, but it didn't help. They said it was because I dilated so fast. When I would have a contraction, I would stop shaking, and as soon as it passed, I started shaking again. It was kind of crazy, and pretty annoying. I got the epidural and felt much better :) Then my doctor arrived, I pushed twice, and there she was! It was so relaxed, and so easy! Much different than when Chloe was born. I was only in labor 3 1/2 hours! She was born at 5:24am. She weighed 6lbs 9oz and was 19in long. She had tons of dark hair and looked so much like Chloe! My family came to visit later that day, Chloe was so excited to meet her baby sister, but was confused that she wasn't in my tummy. We stayed until the next day and then got to bring our sweet baby girl home.
