Halloween

Lisa and Rob's parents were all in town for Halloween this year. On Monday, Emily and I took Hailey and Chloe to Trick-or-Treat Street down at Snake River Landing. On Wednesday, we all went across the street to our neighborhood Trunk-or-Treat. Chloe was a peacock, Hailey was a Lalaloopsy doll, Tyson was a rock star, and Brooklyn was Wonder Woman. I used some face paint and sequins to make a mask for myself.

Family Pictures 2012

My sister-in-law, Tasha, took family pictures for us this year. It was super cold, started to rain part way through, and because of the clouds, started getting dark earlier than we hoped. Even with all of that working against us, she got some great pictures! I was very impressed and happy with how everything turned out! Now, on to the pictures....click to enlarge...

3rd Annual Pumpkin Carving!

After family pictures, Chad and Tasha came to our house for our 3rd annual pumpkin carving. It was fun as always! The first pumpkin is Brooklyn's, she carved he own pumpkin this year and did a great job!

The next is Tyson's. He carved some by himself, and then Rob ended up finishing it.

This is Chloe's pumpkin. It's Bubble Puppy from one of her favorite shows, Bubble Guppies. I carved this one.

A few days later, Lisa came to town before her and Larry moved to Tennessee. The night before Halloween, we still had one pumpkin that needed carved, so we decided to buy two more and carve pumpkins again. The only ones left at Walmart were these white pumpkins. They were kind of cool. They were more like a melon than a gourd. They smelled fruity and were softer. Which was kind of nice because it was easier to cut through, but made it hard when you got into detailed spots, because the pumpkin would break.
This is Lisa's pumpkin. The Joker.

This is mine.

And this is Rob's. He said he wanted to do something easy. It took him like 10 minutes to carve the whole thing. It was super quick.

Gymnastics

We told Chloe that if she would start using the potty all the time and stop having accidents, she could start gymnastics after her birthday. She only wears pull-ups at night now, so I'll count that as a potty training success. Ever since we watched the Olympics this summer, she's talked about doing gymnastics. So the week after her 3rd birthday, she got to start!

Chloe's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe Chloe is 3 already! Time has really flown by. We had a birthday party for her to invite her friends. They played Pin the Bow on Minnie Mouse and dropped clothespins in a jar. We had a bunch of balloons that I had planned to make into flowers, but didn't end up having time, so they were all on the living room floor. I think all of the kids had the most fun with that! They kicked them, ran through them, threw them around, it was great entertainment. We had Minnie Mouse cupcakes made with Oreos. Chloe also got a Minnie Mouse toy from Grandma Astle that went great with the whole theme of her party.

Because my mom is in harvest over Chloe's birthday, we had a family party on Sunday so they could come celebrate. My parents, and Chad & Tasha came over for dinner and a little party. Chloe got a bunch of puzzles from them that have kept her very busy.
